I was born on February 6th,1955 in Hindelang im Allgaeu. After school, I learned the profession of motor mechanic. I am married and have three children.
From 1979 on the professional motorcycle sport became my purpose in life, and I became a pro. As a professional driver and the recipient of numerous national and international titles of the Enduro and Motocross Sport, I also developed into an industry partner, because my occupation extended far beyond the simple race driver engagement.
Companies like Husqvarna, KTM, Suzuki and finally BMW utilized my technical knowledge and skill, and added consultant and development contracts to my driver obligations, in order to utilize the products of our collaboration not only in sports, but also in series production. In addition I was also working in the accessories industry (Continental, Held).
Following the driving career, I completed a two-year federation course, which I concluded as a licensed motorsport trainer. Since I continued to be a passionate athlete, rather than a dry official, I henceforth organized driver trainings and popular sports events, because that way my experiences could best be passed on to young people, who were enthusiastic about motorcycles.
With the foundation of the Richard Schalber GmbH in 1993 – the merging into the Schalber Event GmbH in 2003 – another parallel phase of life began.
